Savonarola//

Formed in 2017, Savonarola knew that they had found something special from the get-go. Defined by a delicious blend of alternative rock and psychedelia, writing and recording oozed out of them, and they effortlessly created seven songs in less than a year. Since then, they have released their critically-acclaimed single, ‘Might Be Bad’, and 2020 EP, ‘Dischordant’.

Like their previous work, their latest single ’Byrds Gone Bad’ was conceived organically, shining brightly out of the amalgamation of a jamming session. Harkening back to the Led Zeppelin era, the parameters of the song came together quickly. Perfecting the track was a more collaborative effort. Recording at Vancouver’s famous Little Red Sound studio with producer Felix Fung, the song came into its own - a true psychedelic 60s/70s number with creativity at its heart. “Listen out for our bass player’s native tongue, Danish monologue in the instrumental!” the band advised excitedly. 

Also at that time the band continued to record more tracks with Felix Fung soon to be released. Byrds Gone Bad it the first of many more to come...

With their organic and raw connection still driving them from 2017 to now, there’s no denying that Savonarola is a band who is here to stay.
