The Pierce Kingans//

There is nobody quite like the eccentrically gifted Pierce Kingan. The Vancouver based human music engine rapidly releases impressive material. When Kingan wasn’t playing bass and writing / singing clever lyrics for local icons The Prettys (2014-2018) he is recording his very own music in his very own bedroom. He has released four magnificent EPs on behalf of his solo project titled The Pierce Kingans. Each one features a Pierce pun-Pierce of Shit ( 2015),Pierce Pressure (2017),Give Pierce a Chance (2018),Pierce of Cake (2019),Pièrce de Résistance (2020), At Pierce With Yourself (2020), Nobel Pierce Prize (2021), Pierceful Protest (2021), Global Pierce Conference (2021) The Piercekeepers (2021) swell as 3 Collaborative Eps Four Season (2019) Make Weird Great Again (2020) Rona Session(2020) and one full length compilation album

Pierce and Love to all the World (2020) put out by the UK based label Subjangle. The Pierce Kingans Band/team always changing but the main key components are Ian Browne on drums/backup vocals, Zac Martin on keys/backup vocals, Jordan “Yung Heazy” Heaney on guitar/back up vocals and either Harley Small or Evan Mattheisen mixing/mastering. Each magnificent album explores avant-garde, intimate and gonzo pop collages of sound. His lyrics are simultaneously sad, hilarious and unpredictable. Please enjoy responsibly.

The Daveed Saband//

The Daveed Saband is the solo project of guitarist, vocalist, and hair aficionado Daveed Saban. Just in case the name wasn’t a dead giveaway.

Saban and co. have built a reputation in and around Vancouver for their high energy and often chaotic shows featuring extended psychedelic jams, blistering guitar solos, and their undeniably goofy sense of humor.

Joined by bassist/Star Wars die hard James Olson, guitarist/aspiring model Aric Froese, along with drummer and dad joke connoisseur Michael Broddy, The Daveed Saband aim to take you on a visceral, enigmatic, and thrilling journey through their acid fried minds.

The This (From Victoria)//

The This began as a "fake band" created by singer/drummer Evan Matthiesen, who recorded their first few songs under the moniker in 2014 in his bedroom studio. Rather than leaning into a bedroom pop style, the EP instead had the illusion of being a lively and energetic full band featuring only live instruments played by himself. Soon Evan recruited longtime friends Jeremy “Jimbo” Rai on bass, and Seth Eggler on drums to become a real band and record a string of singles that the band toured across western Canada in 2018 and 2019, where they honed their skills and developed their sound, blending punk, indie rock and powerpop into their signature style. During this time the band also made their first trip across the pond to Europe, touring the Netherlands in 2019.

After releasing a 7” record on Vancouver label Kingfisher Bluez (Peach Pit, Winona Forever) the band underwent a lineup change after Seth left for health reasons, prompting Evan to switch to drums as their friend Reid Blakley of the Plodes took on guitar duties. Although 2020 had setbacks, The This spent their time in lockdown self-producing their debut album to be released in 2021 on Kingfisher Bluez, which they will bring next year on their first tour across the country.
