After starting his career at both the famous Armoury Studios and Vogville Recorders, Matt began working out of the Rain City Recorders facility in East Vancouver in 2012. Over the course of 11 years, Matt has completed over 200 projects in the space, and continues to be in demand today. Matt approaches every project with a keen understanding of an artist's influences and a unique vision for every project.
Where do you think the music industry is heading next? What are some things you would like to see?
The industry is unpredictable and volatile, I'd love to see a resurgence of independent bands taking the reins of the industry and forging their own path like many of the legendary artists of the past.
What recommendations do you have for bands to make the most of Best In Vancouver 2023?
Be professional, promote yourself rabidly, and think about what you want your audience to take away from your performances.
Is there anything in the pipeline for you coming up that you would like to share?
Rain City Recorders has done a comprehensive renovation of our studio, and added a lot of great new and vintage gear for our artists to take advantage of during their sessions. Looking forward to seeing all the new and talented artists coming out of BC.
